IIM SHILLONG BIDS ADIEU TO PROF D P GOYAL DIRECTOR IIM SHILLONG

IIM Shillong today bids a heartfelt farewell to Prof. D P Goyal, who has served as the Director of IIM Shillong since March 2019. Prof. Goyal’s tenure has been marked by exemplary leadership, academic excellence, and significant contributions to the institute’s growth and reputation.

The farewell program was graced by Shri Shishir Kumar Bajoria, Chairman, Board of Governors (BoG), Shri D P Wahlang, IAS Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya, members of BoG, Shri Atul Kulkarni and Shri Nitin Sharma besides other dignitaries including Ms. Patricia Mukhim, Editor, Shillong Times along with faculty, officers, and staff of the IIM Shillong fraternity.

On this occasion, Shri Shishir Kumar Bajoria, Chairman, BoG, expressed his appreciation for Prof. Goyal’s dedicated leadership and his role in strengthening the institute’s academic standing. Shri D P Wahlang, IAS Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya, and member BoG, fondly recalled having Prof. D P Goyal as his professor during his time as undergraduate student, noting the profound influence Prof. Goyal has had as an educator. He emphasized that Prof. Goyal’s dedication and vision have greatly benefited IIM Shillong, leaving a lasting impact on the institute’s academic community and its continued growth. Shri Atul Kulkarni and Shri Nitin Sharma, members of the BoG, also extended their gratitude, noting Prof. Goyal’s commitment to excellence and his positive influence on the institute’s growth.

Prof. Nalini Prava Tripathy has been appointed as Director (I/C) of IIM Shillong. With nearly 27 years of experience in finance and management education, she brings a wealth of academic and administrative expertise. The institute looks forward to her leadership in advancing IIM Shillong’s mission and continuing its trajectory of excellence.

The entire IIM Shillong community expresses its profound gratitude to Prof. D P Goyal for his dedicated service and leadership and extends best wishes to Prof. Nalini Prava Tripathy in her new role.
