Shillong, March 1, 2004: The Director of Employment & Craftsmen Training, Meghalaya, Shillong, informs that for the welfare of the handicapped, the Directorate of Employment is directly involved by registering their names with the Employment Exchange in the State and sponsoring their names against probable vacancies in the public undertakings and private establishments in the State.

Therefore, interested persons with Disabilities possessing a Certificate from a competent Medical Authority, Civil Surgeon/Medical Board may approach the nearest Employment Exchange for their Registration.

Shillong, March 1, 2004: In view of the Holi Festival to be celebrated in the whole of East Khasi District, on 5^th & 6^th March, 2004, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, has promulgated an order under Section 144 Cr.PC in the District prohibiting throwing, spraying and playing of coloured chemicals/substances/powers in public places including thoroughfares.

This order shall remain in force till March 8, 2004.

Shillong, March 1, 2004: The photography of electors under EPIC Scheme for 38-Rongrenggiri, 43-Songsak, 39-Rongjeng and 40-Kharkutta Constituencies will be held from March 3 to 25, 2004.
