Shillong, July 02, 2004: To commemorate the 169 death anniversary of U Tirot Sing, a football tournament organized by the Diengjat Football Club Mawdiangum, Nongpoh was inaugurated by Smti. A. L. Mawlong, EAC, by unveiling the portrait of U Tirot Sing at the NSCA Mini Stadium, Pahamsyiem on July 1, 2004.

The opening match between Mawdiangum Sports Club vrs Nartap Sports Club ended in a draw with each team scoring 1 goal each. The final game will take place on July 17, 2004 at the MSCA, Mini Stadium, Pahamsyiem, which is the also the death anniversary of U Tirot Singh.

Shillong, July 02, 2004: The official Website of the Department of Agriculture, Government of Meghalaya, will be formally launched on July 05, 2004 at 4 P.M. in the Conference Hall of the Main Secretariat. The Website will be launched by the Principal Secretary (Agriculture), Mr. G P Wahlang.

Shillong, July 02, 2004: The valedictory function of a five-day training programme on “Utilisation of IT Tools in Government”, organised by NIC and sponsored by the Department of DONER was held today at NIC Conference Room. Altogether 30 participants from various State Government Departments took part in the training programme.

Speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest, the Additional DGP, Mr. W R Marbaniang said that NIC through such training programme is doing a commendable job which would equip the people, particularly the Government employees with better computer knowledge. He added that NIC could be a good support system for the present IT savvy generation and urged for more hands-on approach training which would pave way for a better administrative system in the State.

The function was chaired by Mr. T Dkhar, State Informatics Officer.
